MPI Approved RMP Certification
We are Risk Management Programme (RMP) Certified
New Zealand has a very strict regulatory system for food safety for export from New Zealand. The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) implements a risk management programme (RMP), which is a risk management programme for animal-related products. It is a program to manage animal-related products' hazards, health and labelling. New Zealand government strictly requires operators, and processors, including storage warehouses and transportation to have Risk Management Programme (RMP) certification. Any product out of any part of this safety chain will be considered as not meeting the RMP specification and the product will not be exported.
This specific certification not only recognises the export qualification of New Zealand-related industry enterprises but also provides food safety assurance for the importing country. After passing a series of tests and obtaining the RMP certification granted by the Ministry of Primary Industries, New Zealand exporters are still subject to occasional site visits and audits by MPI. With this strict supervision of the whole process, from the source to the end of supply chain ensures that local producers and exporters meet the requirements of the food processing and production process with high quality standards.
